Mike Perry's time as an MMA fighter has come to an end and his time as a bare-knuckle boxer is just beginning. The former UFC welterweight has signed a deal with Bare Knuckle FC.

The announcement was made by the promotion BKFC on Tuesday. The signing came as a surprise to many.

Mike Perry's run in the UFC was fun, a bit of a mess, and controversial to say the least. He picked up excellent wins and highlight-reel knockouts during his run.

His management told ESPN that his contract with the UFC expired back in April and the promotion opted not to re-sign him. He went 0-2 in his last two fights, losing to Tim Means and Daniel Rodriguez by decision.

Mike Perry amassed a record of 7-8 with things going south after losing to Santiago Ponzinibbio back in 2017. He obtained four knockouts over the likes of Danny Roberts, Hyun Gyu Lim, Jake Ellenberger, and Alex Reyes.

Mike Perry has had controversies outside of the cage as he was arrested last year for assault after knocking down an older man with a punch at a bar in Texas. He was also accused of Domestic Violence by his ex-wife but was never charged.

His foray into bare-knuckle boxing makes a lot of sense as he's known for a brawling style and big power. Mike Perry seems like a really solid addition to a growing promotion.

It is yet to be announced who he will compete against or when he will make his debut. With Mike Perry, it's sure to be exciting.
