The Tennessee Titans suffered their worst loss of the 2019 NFL season after getting shut out by a one-win Denver Broncos team in Week 6. The lackluster play from quarterback Marcus Mariota has continued to spur criticism for head coach Mike Vrabel.

Mariota's regression has been one of the biggest storylines in Tennessee since Vrabel arrived. When asked about why that is, Vrabel provided a concise, sarcastic response, via Justin Beasley of WSMV News 4:

It is safe to say that Vrabel is well aware of all the noise surrounding the situation in Tennessee. Helping Mariota take that next step had been part of the job description upon his arrival. Rather than experiencing signs of improvement, he has now resorted to benching him in favor of backup quarterback Ryan Tannehill.

Mike Vrabel made the move during the third quarter of their 16-0 loss to Denver after Mariota had completed 7-of-18 passes for just 63 yards and two interceptions. Although Tannehill fared much better upon entering the game, he was still unable to get this offense in scoring position.

The Titans now have quite the conundrum on their hands regarding both their head coach and franchise quarterback.
