The wife of free agent MLB pitcher Mike Foltynewicz leveled strong accusations against her husband on Sunday. In a story on her Instagram account, Foltynewicz's wife, Brittany Wortmann, revealed that she was leaving her husband and accused the 30-year-old of abuse and adultery.

Wortmann's post begins with her announcing that she was no longer with Foltynewicz, revealing she made the “difficult decision to separate after years of abuse and discovering his long-hidden adultery (8). During both pregnancies and post.” Her post suggests that Foltynewicz was unfaithful to her on multiple occasions, potentially as many as eight times, and even during her pregnancies with their children.

The pair have two young children together, son Jett and daughter Lola. Foltynewicz and Wortmann met in 2015 and were married a couple of years later.

In her post, Brittany said “anywhere but here is best” for her and the two children, and called Foltynewicz a “sick soul.” She went on to claim that “you can be the perfect wife and mother but can't change who people really are.”

Foltynewicz last pitched in 2021 for the Texas Rangers, going 2-12 across 24 starts with a 5.44 ERA and 97 strikeouts. The Sterling, Illinois native is a former first round pick of the Houston Astros and has spent eight years in the MLB. He owns a career 4.52 ERA with 46 wins and 752 strikeouts, having made the All-Star Game in 2018 as a member of the Atlanta Braves, in what was the best season of his career.
