UPDATE: An earlier version of this article indicated that Tyler Anderson would be traded to the Phillies. However, according to the latest updates, the deal fell through and Anderson has been sent to the Seattle Mariners instead, per Jeff Passan of ESPN.

The story below has been edited to reflect the failed deal and the new trade to the Mariners.

The MLB trade deadline keeps on churning away day after day. Now, Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Tyler Anderson is headed to the Seattle Mariners after being scratched from his scheduled start on Tuesday.

Initially, Anderson is thought to be on his way to the Phillies since the team had interest in him, according to Mark Feinsand of MLB.com. However, in Passan's update, it was the Mariners who ended up trading for the pitcher after the trade with Philadelphia failed following a medical review.

Anderson has been solid and is an innings-eater, if anything, and can provide some relief to the Mariners. It is still unknown what the Pirates will get in return in the trade.

The Pirates kicked off the blockbuster trades of the MLB trade deadline by sending All-Star Adam Frazier to the San Diego Padres. Surely, the Pirates will make more moves as well, especially given their disappointing season.

Reports came out that the Phillies, Giants, and Dodgers were among teams with interest in Anderson. With that said, it is a bit of surprise he ended up with the Mariners.

Buckle up, the MLB trade deadline is still days away and big names such as Scherzer, Kris Bryant, and Joey Gallo are just a few players who will likely be sporting new uniforms by the weekend.
