Multiple outlets are trying to maximize opportunities after the electric Field of Dreams game between the New York Yankees and Chicago White Sox on Thursday night. That includes the card company Topps, which has found a super unique way to attract eyeballs to its product and the game.

That's right, similar to what is seen with jersey patch cards, Topps instead sold cards (and sold out of them quickly) with a legitimate corn stalk from the Field of Dreams site. The cards look pretty sweet as the ones shown have the visual of Aaron Judge and Tim Anderson in their uniforms from the game. And to top it off, their autographs along with a corn stalk is featured as well.

It's certainly a different idea from Topps and that outside-the-box thinking worked here as the cards sold out in a very swift manner.

The game itself along with the scenery from Dyersville, Iowa could not have gone more perfectly for baseball. The Yankees made a late rally, scoring four runs in the top of the 9th inning to take a one run lead. Anderson, the star shortstop for the White Sox, then deposited a two-run, walk-off home run into the cornfields to win the game for Chicago.

Some have noted that the corn stalk on those Topps cards will turn brown but perhaps they've already thought of a way to counter that and preserve the cards. Either way, the idea was unique and the cards sold out and will certainly be a different add for collectors everywhere.
