Winners of the MLB Gold Glove Award for the 2020 season were unveiled on Tuesday with multiple big names taking home the coveted hardware for the best fielders in baseball.

This year’s crop of winners is filled with first-time honorees, though it featured some notable familiar names as well. Headlining the pack is Mookie Betts, the superstar right fielder who helped deliver a World Series victory to the Los Angeles Dodgers for the first time since 1988. It's the fifth consecutive Gold Glove nod of his illustrious career.

Taking home their eighth Gold Glove recognitions are Colorado Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado and left fielder Alex Gordon, who just recently retired after suiting up for the Kansas City Royals.

Other multiple Gold Glove winners include Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo, who earned his fourth and Cleveland Indians catcher Roberto Perez, St. Louis Cardinals second baseman Kolten Wong, and Cincinnati Reds catcher Tucker Barnhart, who all got their second acclaims.

The rest of the field are first-time winners, including Chicago White Sox rookie Luis Robert, who made the history books for being the first Sox rookie to ever win a Gold Glove plum.

Other first-time awardees are pitchers Griffin Canning and Max Fried, shortstops Javier Baez and JP Crawford, first baseman Evan White, second baseman Cesar Hernandez, third baseman Isiah Kiner-Falefa, right fielder Joey Gallo, left fielder Tyler O'Neill, and center fielder Trent Grisham.

Due to the regional schedule this season brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, managers and coaches weren't able to vote for winners of the Gold Glove Award. Instead, the honorees were chosen based on advanced defensive metrics.
