The Baltimore Orioles will host the Toronto Blue Jays for the third and final game of this series on Thursday night. It’s time to continue our MLB odds series and make a Blue Jays-Orioles prediction and pick.

These teams have split the first two games of this series to start the week. Baltimore secured a 7-5 win on Tuesday and Toronto bounced back in a big way with a 10-2 victory on Wednesday. Toronto is looking to work their way back into playoff contention and a divisional matchup like this is a great opportunity to do so.

Here’s how sportsbooks have set the opening Blue Jays-Orioles odds.

MLB Odds: Blue Jays-Orioles Odds

Toronto Blue Jays -1.5 (-140)

Baltimore Orioles +1.5 (+120)

Over 10.5 Runs (-114)

Under 10.5 Runs (-106)

Why The Blue Jays Could Cover The Spread

The Toronto Blue Jays came into Camden Yards hoping to come away with three victories and were stunned in the opener. They were able to bounce back in the second game with a huge offensive showing and now have a chance to head out of Baltimore winning two of three. The Blue Jays are just four games back of a wild card spot and with the way this offense has performed, they should be able to close the gap with no problem.

The Blue Jays have been one of the most explosive offensive clubs in the league this season. They are top-five in almost all offensive categories and rank second in runs per game at 5.21. Toronto's lineup is anchored by MVP-candidate Vlad Guerrero Jr., who has hit 28 home runs and driven in 71 RBI this far. The rest of the lineup has been very productive lately as well and we should expect this level of success to continue for the time being.

Toronto will turn to right-hander Alek Manoah for the rubber match. Manoah has been very productive with a 2-0 record and 2.70 ERA through seven starts. He has been getting a ton of swings-and-misses as the right-hander is averaging 10.6 punch outs per nine innings. Manoah tossed six innings of scoreless ball in his last start against Baltimore.

Why The Orioles Could Cover The Spread

The Baltimore Orioles are in last place in the AL East and look like a team that is at least a few years away from being any good. However, they are also one of those teams that possesses raw talent capable of pulling off random wins. The Orioles have gone 5-5 over their last 10 games despite the fact that they sit toward the bottom of the league in almost every category.

The Orioles offense is in trouble with Chris Davis, Maikel Franco, and Freddy Galvis all out of the lineup. The bright spots in this lineup have been Cedric Mullins and Trey Mancini, who have put together pretty solid seasons for the O's. Their offense has averaged a solid 4.38 runs per game at Camden Yards, but their -1.77 run differential at home isn't going to win many ball games.

Baltimore will send out left-hander Keegan Akin for the rubber match. Akin will be looking for his first win of the season as he's currently 0-4 with a 7.46 ERA through seven starts. The southpaw struggled in his last start against Toronto and had a horrible start his last time out, allowing four runs on seven hits in three innings of work.

Final Blue Jays-Orioles Prediction & Pick

I absolutely love the Toronto Blue Jays in this spot. They showed what they're capable of doing to a team like the Orioles on Wednesday and we have no reason to believe that they won't replicate that performance in the finale. The Blue Jays lineup is red-hot right now and the Orioles lineup is depleted. There is a huge disparity in the pitching matchup as well. Alek Manoah looks like an above-average starting pitcher and Keegan Akin doesn't appear to belong at this level. Look for Toronto to get out in front in the early innings and never look back.

FINAL PICK: Toronto Blue Jays -1.5 (-140)
