The Baltimore Orioles and Houston Astros will finish their surprisingly competitive three-game series Wednesday night. Baltimore has managed to pull off two wins in a row and is now playing to sweep the best team in the MLB. No one expected this to happen, including the Astros. Houston will try to avoid complete humiliation and take the last game in the series against a team that shouldn't be able to compete with them. It's time to continue our MLB odds series and make an Orioles-Astros prediction and pick.

Let's see how the bookmakers have set the lines for tonight's game.

MLB Odds: Orioles-Astros Odds

Baltimore Orioles +1 1/2 (+130)

Houston Astros -1 1/2 (-150)

Over 9 1/2 runs (+101)

Under 9 1/2 runs (-121)

Why The Orioles Could Cover The Spread

The Orioles are undeniably hot right now. That's not a sentence that has been said often this year, but it's true. They've scored 22 runs over the last two games against Houston, good enough for two straight wins. Seven of nine Baltimore hitters notched a hit last night, and eight of nine reached based safely on Monday night. A streaking baseball team can beat anyone on any given night, and Baltimore proved that the last two games.

The Orioles are entrusting pitcher Matt Harvey with the start, which typically hasn't ended well. There are a couple of reasons for optimism for Harvey and the rest of the Baltimore pitching staff though. Houston has been the league's best offense for most of the year, but they're worse at home than on the road. The Astros have a lower batting average, slugging percentage and OPS when playing at Minute Maid Park. They also hit worse against right-handed pitching, scoring worse in every major batting statistic when playing righties.

Why The Astros Could Cover The Spread

The Astros are one of the best teams in baseball, and eventually, they're going to start playing like it again. Baltimore should have never taken the first two games of the series, as Houston has an advantage in literally every single statistical category.

Another advantage that the Astros have tonight is the opposing starting pitcher. Matt Harvey has been horrible all season long, and I don't see that getting any better against the Astros.

Harvey owns an ERA of 7.54 on the season, but his last seven starts have increased that number drastically. Over that span, he has an ERA of 10.00 to go with a WHIP of 2.07. Five of the six Houston hitters who have faced Harvey own an average of .250 or above. The Astros should knock him out of the game early and easily.

Houston's starting pitcher is also no slouch. The Astros will send out Luis Garcia to the mound tonight, something the Orioles can't be too excited about. Garcia has been solid lately, sporting a 2.40 ERA and a 1.09 WHIP over his last seven starts. He has a decent chance of cooling down the Baltimore hitters.

Final Orioles-Astros Prediction & Pick

Despite two consecutive wins from the Orioles, it's hard to trust them, especially with Matt Harvey on the mound. The Astros won't allow themselves to be swept, but the odds on the over are just too good. I expect Harvey to get rocked early on and then hand things over to a shaky Baltimore bullpen, meaning the Astros could hit the over on their own.

FINAL PICK: Over 9 1/2 runs (+101)
