The big, bad AL East is in full effect, as the New York Yankees will look to ride their massive winning streak on the road against the Toronto Blue Jays. It is time to take a sneak peek at our MLB odds series, where our Yankees-Blue Jays prediction and pick will be made.

The Yankee's lengthy winning streak has officially reached ten games, as New York edged out Toronto in a low-scoring affair of 3-2 on Monday night. By far the longest victory skid that baseball has seen in 2022, the 17-6 Yankees will hope to make it eleven consecutive with RHP Jameson Taillon on the bump for New York.

At a respectable 15-9, the Blue Jays will send RHP Alek Manoah to the mound in order to find some sort of way to snap the Yankees' winning streak. Manoah has been nearly perfect thus far with a 4-0 record and a 1.44 ERA.

Why The Yankees Could Cover the Spread

We've said it before and we'll say it again… the Yankees are the hottest team in baseball and could possibly be the most all-around talented bunch in the sport through their first 23 games of the season. While New York certainly has its hands full going up against the pesky Toronto Blue Jays and Monoah, who has won a remarkable nine straight starts, the Yankees have been taking care of business in multiple facets of the game. Whether it's the starting staff pitching deep into ballgames, hitters crushing baseballs to the moon, or the defense getting outs at the most opportune of times, this Yankees squad is no joke.

With its best starting record since going 19-4 in 2003, New York has showcased its ability to come in clutch in crunch time, especially at the plate. On Monday evening, it was second baseman Gleyber Torres who tore the cover off the ball with three hits in four at-bats, including a two-run shot in the fourth that put the ‘Yanks up 2-0. Torres also was responsible for putting the Yankees up for good, as he came through in the top of the ninth hitting when he singled to right, giving New York a 3-2 lead. The Yankee's roster from top-to-bottom is filled with talent, as there is always a name that is capable of taking a game over when he is feeling his swing.

Collectively, New York has the third most runs with 109 while maintaining the second-best slugging percentage at .420. On the pitching side of things, the Yankees have been just as dominant with a team ERA of 2.69 and a .220 batting average against, good for second and eighth respectively.

Despite his last successful outing versus Toronto, Taillon has seen his fair share of struggles against the Blue Jays with a 1-3 record and 4.88 ERA in five career starts.

How about some Manoah, Monoah, and maybe even more Monoah? Simply put, this guy seems to be the real deal. In Monoah's 24 career starts as a Blue Jay, the 24-year-old is a near guarantee to lead Toronto to a victory. The Blue Jays are 20-4 whenever Monoah is tasked to take the first pitch. The Blue Jays twirler even was sharp in his MLB back on May 27th of last year versus New York, as he pitched six scoreless innings of two-hit ball in a 2-0 victory for the men in blue.

While teams may start figuring out Monoah little by little the more they see of him, little can be done right now against one of the more efficient pitchers in baseball. It is Monoah's world right now, and we are all just living in it.

9-4 in their past 13 games, Toronto would love to give a better sense of run support on Tuesday, as they went 1-8 with runners in scoring position yesterday. As a team, the Blue Jays remain as deadly of a lineup that most teams will see, as they are a top ten group statistically when it comes to batting average and slugging percentage.

Final Yankees-Blue Jays Prediction & Pick

This should be one of the more fun matchups to watch for on the Tuesday scheduled baseball slate. Something has to give here, as the Yankees have won ten in a row and Monoah is 8-0 with a 1.57 ERA in his last eight starts. That streak leaves him tied for the second-longest starting winning streak with Roger Clemens back in 1997. Expect the Blue Jays to get after Taillon in this one, and put a screeching halt to the Yankees winning ways. Put your trust in Toronto and they are likely to not let you down.

Final Yankees-Blue Jays Prediction & Pick: Blue Jays -1.5 (+160)
