It's become a common trend among world soccer for star players to make the move to the MLS when their career begins to wind down. Some of the best players across the globe have used the MLS as a sort of farewell tour, and it seems another top talent is set to join the ranks in the United States. The LA Galaxy are reportedly nearing a deal to bring a world-renowned Brazilian international to Hollywood. Per Fabrizio Romano, the Galaxy and former Bayern Munich and Juventus winger Douglas Costa are nearing an agreement that would see the Brazilian speedster make the move to the MLS.

Costa is currently playing in the Brazilian top flight for Gremio. In 2021-22, Costa has made 26 appearances for the club, scoring three goals and adding a pair of assists. Prior to returning to his home nation, Costa had spent the previous 12 seasons in Europe, and could now be set for a move to the MLS.

He played in Ukraine for Shakhtar from his age-18 season in 2009-10 through 2014-15. While with Shakhtar, Costa scored 29 goals and provided 27 assists across six seasons. At age 24, the Brazilian made a highly-coveted move to Bayern Munich. He'd play two seasons in Germany's top flight, scoring eight goals and assisting 10 across 50 matches, winning two Bundesliga titles.

Costa played in Italy for Juventus from 2017-21, winning the Serie A three times. The Brazilian winger scored six goals and assisted 10 across 73 appearances for Juve, before returning to Bayern Munich on loan. He then joined Gremio on a free transfer in June.

Adding a player of his quality could be a huge move for the Galaxy as they look to get back into the MLS Playoffs after missing out in 2021.
