Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has been on the mind of gamers everywhere as they have been patiently waiting to hear about the game's planned release in 2022. While there currently isn't any news regarding the said release date, some news in recent days has come out that some significant changes will be made to the game, whenever it comes out. One of those changes could be in regards to the game's online matchmaking system, as it could be redeveloped in an attempted to be more fair and balanced.

According to Ralph Valve, Call of Duty leaker and writer for WhatIfGaming.com, sweeping changes to Skill-based Matchingmaking could be in store for Modern Warfare 2, including the addition of “bot pools” for newer, or  lesser skilled players. has been stated that the developers are planning to use this system as a way to deal with “smurfs” who spend their time de-ranking or using new accounts to compete against lesser ranked players while easily outclassing them in skill.

There is also word that disbanding lobbies which were featured in recent Call of Duty games such as Call of Duty Vanguard will be returning. This means that players would be placed into brand new matches after each and ever game. This is being done as a way to keep the skill-based matchmaking in check, according to the developer leak.

While these changes are considered to be postitve, other users have responded to the changes, claiming that there could be potitiional issues with these inclusions. Many are still hoping that skill-based matchmaking will be an optional feature for those that wish to opt-in, rather than have it as a mandatory function. Hopefully the devleopers will consider both options to give players the choices they wish to make for their gameplay experience.
