Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak, a “massive expansion” coming to MH Rise, has revealed its release date window. The expansion was featured in the most recent Nintendo Direct, with a teaser trailer viewable below.

Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak Release Date: Summer 2022

Similar to previous expansions like Monster Hunter World's Iceborne, Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak will offer a new story, new locations, new hunting actions, a new quest rank, and of course, new monsters to hunt. With a game this successful, it's no surprise Capcom would like to add to the experience.

As of now, there aren't any other specific details announced for the expansion, but if the teaser trailer is anything to go by, it's sure to be quite the atmospheric experience.

Monster Hunter Rise finally coming to PC

Additionally, the official Capcom announcement page for the expansion also revealed that the expansion will also be coming to PC – meaning Monster Hunter Rise will finally be on PC as well. Currently, there are no details on the base game's PC release, but since Sunbreak will be releasing for both Nintendo Switch and PC at the same time, we can assume that it'll come before or at the same date. This is a departure from how things were done for Monster Hunter World Iceborne, where PC players had to wait four months before getting the expansion after console players.

Either way, fans looking to play Monster Hunter Rise and its Sunbreak expansion on the PC finally have a release date window to look forward to.
