The Monster Hunter spin-off releases on July 9, but Capcom has already outlined its post-launch plans for the game. This includes free updates up until October.

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin is the second game in the turn-based RPG spin-off series. The first post-release content drop will be the Palamute monstie – the rideable canine creatures introduced in Monster Hunter Rise. Palamutes arrive on July 15.

The August 5 update will then add Kulve Taroth as a co-op quest exclusive monster. Hellblade Glavenus and Boltreaver Astalos are also going to be introduced with this update.

In early September, Soulseer Mizutsune, Elderfrost Gammoth and Oroshi Kirin will make their way into the game. Later in that same month, Dreadking Rathalos and Molten Tigrex will follow. This update will also include a high-difficulty version of Kulve Taroth.

Monster Hunter Stories 2‘s final update in October will see Silver Rathalos and Gold Rathian arrive. Alongside this will be another co-op quest exclusive monster that Capcom is still keeping under wraps.

Currently, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, already has a demo available on the Nintendo eShop. Additionally, any progress on the demo can also be carried over to the main game. In it, you can already customize your character, collect Monsties, and level up to 11. However, it doesn't include any multiplayer components.

The game also contains a collaboration with Monster Hunter Rise. Playing Wings of Ruin will earn you the Kinship Talisman in Rise. This item activates the Master Mounter and Wide-Range skills. You will also receive layered armor in each game if you own both of them.
