Ms. Marvel episode 2 ending explained

Ms. Marvel, Entertainment, Marvel

This week's episode of Ms. Marvel starts Kamala Khan attending school and making a scene in the hallway. Bruno then greets him and asks her about the powers. All of a sudden, everyone around them starts to watch videos of Avengercon and the stranger who saved Zoe from getting injured. She comes up with a party to celebrate what happened in Avengercon. Kamala and her friends, meanwhile, decide to attend as well.

After school, Kamala shows Bruno the bangle and they try to figure out how it works. He surmises that the bangle unlocked her abilities, and it's not the source of her powers. With Bruno's assistance, Kamala trains and starts to create constructs of energy.

As the day ended, Kamala and Nakia attend a lecture at the local mosque. The latter is then encouraged to run for a position in the Mosque Board as Kamal encourages her to do so. Once she gets home, she apologizes to her mother and asks her if she can go to Zoe's party. The pair meet up with Nakia as they are introduced to Kamran, the new boy in school. The cops arrive and they all ride in Kamran's car to escape.

Kamala starts to bond with Kamran over Bollywood movies and music. Right before they go their separate ways, Kamran asks for Kamala's number, an act that has the teenager gushing over all the way home.

Over in school, Kamala's nose starts to glow. Nakia starts to suspect her. The pair then open up to each other about the struggles of growing up as Pakistani women in America. Nakia admits that she has decided to run for the Mosque Board. In another part of the school, Bruno discovers that he got into Caltech for college. He is reluctant because the school is in California.

With school ending, Kamala says he can't train with Bruno because Kamran is going to teach her how to drive. They then go out for a meal and learn more about each other. The pair are found by Aamir, and his girlfriend Tyesha. She introduces him as a cousin, a move that somehow worked on Kamala's brother.

At home, Kamala's family gets together for dinner. It was discovered that Kamala's grandmother, a toddler back during the partition of India and Pakistan, found her way back to her father after getting lost at a train station. This revelation causes Kamala to black out.

Once she wakes up, Kamala calls her grandma to ask about the bangle. She discovers that it belonged to her great-grandmother. But before Kamala learns more, his father enters the room and she loses her grandma on the phone.

Kamala then proceeds to ask her mother about Aisha, her great-grandmother. She only tells her that Aisha caused great shame to her family and the topic is cut short. Their whole family, along with Tyesha, then go to the local Mosque grounds to celebrate Eid Mubarak. She meets up with Nakia and Bruno, with the latter starting to campaign to get a position on the board.

In another part of the city, Zoe is being interrogated by Agent Cleary from the Department of Damage Control. She is then asked about what happened during Avengercon and the stranger who saved her from harm. Cleary surmises that the person they're looking for is of South Asian descent, and proceeds to start a search for that individual.

Meanwhile, Kamala starts to ask the aunties about Aisha and what happened to her. As this is happening, a young boy is in danger of falling down from a high tower. Kamala runs to wear her Captain Marvel cosplay costume and proceeds to save the boy by creating platforms of hard light. As he reaches over to get the boy, a flash of light blinds her and she sees Aisha. This causes the boy to fall once again, but Kamala saves him in the nick of time.

With the boy saved, albeit with a broken ankle, agents of Damage Control chase Kamala. She is saved by Kamran, who arrives in his car and takes her away to safety. Right in the back, Kamran introduces Kamala to her mother, who then menacingly tells the teenager that she has waited a long time to meet her.

What just happened? A Ms. Marvel episode 2 recap

Just like the first episode of Ms. Marvel, most of this week's installment was used to set up several characters and their respective parts in the series, such as Nakia and Bruno. We are also introduced to Kamran, Kamala's love interest and potentially, an antagonist for her.

This episode also gives Kamala a chance to train her abilities, which have been revealed to be a part of her. In turn, her increasing popularity among the local community has led Damage Control hot on her trail. With the plot moving forward, it's expected that next week's episode of Ms. Marvel will keep the story tight and shed more light on the series' primary antagonist.
