  • G2: Caitlyn, Wukong, Lucian, Tahm Kench, Aphelios

Picks

  • T1: Kennen, Viego, Twisted Fate, Tristana, Rell
  • G2: Ornn, Diana, Yasuo, Kalista, Rakan

The Rumble Stage opened up with this banger of a match, and T1 sure came prepared. During the laning phase, they all played immaculately. Their macro play was also pristine. This caused the game to be extremely slow, but T1 held the gold lead.

G2's team composition, when it came to it, was the easier comp to play. So in the fight around the Baron, they simply press their “go” buttons and win the fight to get the buff. Won fight aside, having Ornn on the team means the gold lead was also being slightly cheated by the Ornn items. Equipped with the Summoner Spellbook, G2 has two smites to secure neutral objectives. All in all, G2 played well around their deficit in the mid game.

T1's draft showed its weakness more and more as the game went on, and G2 soon dismantled T1's win streak.

Result: G2 win in 39:08 (T1 8 – 20 G2)

Game 2: Evil Geniuses (LCS) vs Royal Never Give Up (LPL)

Bans

  • EG: Kalista, LeBlanc, Jax, Karma, Viego
  • RNG: Lucian, Wukong, Ahri, Samira, Rakan

Picks

  • EG: Gwen, Diana, Yasuo, Jhin, Leona
  • RNG: Gangplank, Xin Zhao, Tristana, Ezreal, Braum

Evil Geniuses seems to have had the same idea as G2, and drafted the Diana-Yasuo combo as well to try and clinch a win against the LPL Representatives. However, they started to fall behind early in the laning phase. They did have a good hit on Baron Nashor and claimed it, but the price they had to pay was the entirety of RNG being empowered by the Mountain Soul.

RNG held the lead for most of the game, but the true thing that put EG six feet under was one barrel from Bin that eradicated their chances of winning.

Result: RNG win in 34:35 (EG 11 – 22 RNG)

Bans

  • PSG: Lucian, Twisted Fate, Galio, Akali, Jayce
  • SGB: Wukong, Kalista, LeBlanc, Ezreal, Renata Glasc

Picks

  • PSG: Gwen, Viego, Ahri, Xayah, Rakan
  • SGB: Vladimir, Volibear, Veigar, Tristana, Rell

PSG Talon pulled themselves ahead quite early, and never let go of the lead. Despite this, fights were still difficult from them due to Veigar's stun cage. At one point, SGB even won a fight off of the cage stunning Bay, causing them to have a timing to slay Baron Nashor even while 10 thousand gold down.

PSG put a quick end to SGB's comeback attempt by winning a couple of fights and exploding their Nexus swiftly. Even late game Veigar couldn't carry SGB in fights against PSG's strong team synergy with the presence of Viego's resets and the Lovers duo in Xayah-Rakan.

Result: PSG win in 40:47 (PSG 25 – 13 SGB)

Game 4: G2 Esports (LEC) vs Royal Never Give Up (LPL)

Bans

  • G2: Gangplank, Graves, Kalista, Viego, Karma
  • RNG: Lucian, Pyke, LeBlanc, Tristana, Senna

Picks

  • G2: Vladimir, Wukong, Zoe, Kai’Sa, Nautilus
  • RNG: Leona, Ezreal, Ahri, Lee Sin, Gwen

The tales of G2 solo lanes were night and day. While caPs on Zoe was popping off and showed that Claps is in the house, BrokenBlade's Vladimir was quite weak and was being abused in the top lane.

caPs even helped secure Baron for G2 by picking up a stray Smite from the ground, practically eliminating RNG's chances of stealing it away.

The next few minutes were RNG preventing the Baron-empowered siege, which they mostly do. After being repelled, the Eu players play slow until the Baron respawned.

G2 once again go to the Baron pit to attempt to gain the purple buff, but found a good fight instead. They ace the Chinese players, and march straight into their base.

Result: G2 win in 36:32 (G2 21 – 14 RNG)

  • SGB: Kalista, Gangplank, LeBlanc, Karma, Yuumi
  • EG: Lucian, Tristana, Ahri, Nautilus, Sylas

Picks

  • SGB: Gwen, Wukong, Galio, Kai’Sa, Rakan
  • EG: Jax, Viego, Twisted Fate, Ezreal, Leona

Little words can be said about this game. Until the 25 minute mark when EG claimed the Baron, the game was fairly close and the gold lead was quite small, albeit in favor of EG.

SGB were quick to realize that the Viego was growing to be unkillable, and Jax in the side lanes were a thorn on their side. Evil Geniuses simply sieged SGB's base and razed their structures while empowered by the Baron buff.

Result: EG win in 28:45 (SGB 11 – 20 EG)

Bans

  • PSG: Lucian, Caitlyn, Twisted Fate, Jayce, Gangplank
  • T1: Vex, Wukong, Rakan, Nautilus, Leona

This game was fairly even until 15 minutes in. PSG was answering every play T1 made, and only then did T1 get a meaningful lead. In the mid game, T1 found more plays in their favor, allowing them to stack some Drakes. At 24 minutes, they then claim the Baron buff, widening the lead even more.

In a “by-the-book” game by T1, they simply get another Baron buff, finally claim their Mountain Soul, and stat-checked PSG every time. And every time, they failed due to how strong T1 has grown. In the end, PSG were unable to get a single objective apart from a singular Cloud Drake.

Result: T1 win in 33:10 (PSG 9 – 15 T1)
