With New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees out for the foreseeable future, head coach Sean Payton needed to find a replacement for the star QB in the starting line-up. Ultimately, Payton went with Taysom Hill over Jameis Winston in their upcoming Week 11 match against the Atlanta Falcons.

However, it appears like Payton's decision did not sit well with multiple players, as well as other people in the organization. A lot of them believe Winston should have gotten the nod instead of Hill, per Adam Schefter of ESPN:

New Orleans coach Sean Payton struggled with choosing the Saints' starting quarterback for Sunday's game before ultimately deciding to go with Taysom Hill, but there are still multiple players and people within the organization who thought Jameis Winston should have been the starter against the Atlanta Falcons, sources told ESPN.

With Brees out, this will give New Orleans the chance to evaluate which between Hill and Winston will become their quarterback of the future. Many believe Winston will eventually take over the reigns when Brees possibly calls it a career by the end of the 2020 season.

Winston made the Pro-Bowl team as a rookie, so there's definitely potential for him to get the keys from the Super Bowl XLIV MVP. Nonetheless, it shouldn't hurt to give Hill a chance.

There is no timetable for the 41-year old Brees' return, so the Saints will get more chances to make their evaluations. As for now, it seems like they will take a peek at Hill first before giving Winston the ball to showcase his claim for the starting job in the future.
