After spending almost two months with the Delaware 87ers of the NBA D-League, Nate Robinson will now be taking his talents to Venezuela and play for one of their most popular professional teams, Guaros de Lara.

The team announced that they have signed the 5-foot-9 point guard and they are hoping that the former NBA dunk champion can have an immediate impact on the team.

Robinson is a 10-year NBA veteran and appeared in 650 games for eight different franchises. He had his best season in 2008-2009 while playing for the New York Knicks and has decent career averages of 11.0 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 3.0 assists in 22.5 minutes per game. However, he is famously remembered by basketball fans around the world as the only three-time winner of the Slam Dunk Contest.

The 32-year-old is hoping his stint in Venezuela will help resurrect his career to once again have the opportunity to play in the NBA. He also wants to prove to his doubters that he has a lot left in the tank and can still play at the highest level.

This will be Robinson's second time playing outside the U.S. as he also appeared in four games for Hapoel Tel Aviv of the Israeli Basketball League just last year.
