The Washington Nationals could potentially be sellers at the MLB Trade Deadline, but the latest rumblings may be a deterrent to the team being active this week. Per Ken Rosenthal, the Nationals-Phillies game on Wednesday night is in jeopardy because of a COVID outbreak within the Washington organization.

This comes just a day after shortstop Trea Turner left in the first inning after testing positive for the virus. It's now been revealed the team has a total of 12 cases of COVID-19, with four of them being players:

The Nationals are on a skid, going 4-6 in their last 10. They were even just swept by the Baltimore Orioles, who are one of the worst teams in baseball. At 46-54, the playoffs are out of the question for DC at this rate, which means basically anyone could get traded by Saturday. Max Scherzer is gaining interest from about half of the teams in the big leagues and with him becoming a free agent this summer, he could be a tremendous addition to a contender.

Turner's name has also been involved in trade rumors along with slugger Juan Soto. While there is no guarantee that any of these players actually get moved, these COVID issues could actually result in them maybe even staying put. Only time will tell.
