Over the past few weeks, the social media team at 2K Games has been revealing the overall ratings of players who are set to appear in their upcoming release of NBA 2K19. On Monday morning, 2K announced that Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo earned a 94 overall rating.

“The Greek Freak,” as he's known, continues to rise in NBA prominence. In his 75 appearances with the Bucks last season, the two-time All-Star racked up averages of 26.9 points on 52.9 percent shooting from the field (30.7 percent from beyond the arc), 10.0 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.4 blocks in 36.7 minutes per outing.

Earlier this month, news came down the wire stating that Antetokounmpo, now 23 years of age, will serve as the cover athlete for the Standard Edition of NBA 2K19.

In an interview with Forbes, Antetokounmpo — the first internationally-born player to grace the cover of an NBA 2K release — noted that he is honored to receive this recognition.

“I am honored to be the first international player featured on the cover of NBA 2K19,” said Antetokounmpo via Forbes. “I love playing NBA 2K so this means a lot to me. I have worked hard to earn recognition in the NBA and being on the cover of NBA 2K19 is a dream come true.”

An overall rating of 94 for Giannis might seem a bit high to some. Others may see the value as too low. Whichever side of the proverbial fence you're stood on, there is no way around the fact that he is one of the best players in today's NBA.
