The start of the 2018-19 NBA season can't come any sooner as there's only a couple of months left before the opening tipoff. That also means that the season for the new NBA 2K game is just waiting around the corner, with the trailer for this year's version of the popular video game just released recently.

NBA players have also become avid fans of NBA 2K, as even superstars around the league have taken their overall rating seriously. Omari Spellman, the Hawks' first-round pick in the recent draft, has personally asked Ronnie2K about his rating.

Ronnie2K roasted the kid on Twitter:

Spellman asked this question to which Ronnie2K answered: “Hopefully one year soon bud.” The rookie became quite confused and replied with the statement, “I'm in the league fam lmfaoooo.” Then the 2K Guru humorously answered back with three words: “I know lol.”

Omari Spellman was picked 30th by the rebuilding Hawks in the 2018 NBA Draft. He was a vital cog for the recent NCAA champs Villanova Wildcats as the young stretch forward normed averages of 10.9 points and 8 rebounds while shooting a very outstanding 43% from beyond the arc.

Bleacher Report raved about Spellman's fit for the Hawks:

“The Hawks are getting an excellent spot-up shooter who can score from three levels. Spellman is also well-equipped defensively for the modern game. He is able to defend multiple positions and play both the 4 and 5. He has a skill set that should keep him in the league a long time.”

Still a young budding prospect, Spellman will have plenty of opportunities to improve his game with the rebuilding Hawks. He will be alongside the team's young guns to be led by fellow rookie and spitfire point guard, Trae Young.

On the lighter side though, Spellman's rating in the 2K game is expected to dip in the 70-74 range, as 2018 first pick overall, Deandre Ayton has been given a 79 rating.
