Dallas Mavericks Shooting Guard Luka Doncic graces the NBA 2K22 cover as this year's cover athlete.

Luka Doncic will be appearing solo in this year's NBA 2K22 cover for the game's Standard Edition. The game's Standard Edition will include only the base game, with no additional benefits. NBA 2K22 will come out on September 10, 2021, simultaneously on all platforms. It will be coming out on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, Xbox One, and PS4. Pre-ordering the game will grant you:

  • 5,000 Virtual Currency
  • 5,000 MyTEAM Points
  • 10 MyTEAM Promo Packs (delivered one a week)
  • A Boost for each MyCAREER Skill type
  • A Boost for each Gatorade Boost type
  • Luka Doncic MyPLAYER Jersey
  • 95 Rated Luka Doncic MyTEAM Free Agent Card

Meanwhile, the game will also come out with alternative versions. Aside from Luka, there are four more athletes featuring in the NBA 2K22 game covers. For the game's commemorative 75th-anniversary cover, NBA legends Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Dirk Nowitzki will be featured alongside NBA star Kevin Durant. The 75th-anniversary cover will include more in-game bonuses. Finally, the NBA 2K22 WNBA 25th-anniversary edition features Candace Parker in its alternate game cover. It features exactly the same content as the Standard Edition, apart from the alternate cover athlete.

There will also be a Cross-Gen Bundle which will let you purchase the game on both your current-gen and next-gen consoles. However, the two versions remain separate games. As such, save files and progress will not be shared between different consoles. Thankfully, MyTEAM accounts are an exception to this rule. Your NBA 2K22 MyTEAM account is shared between consoles of the same family.
