NBA Commissioner Adam Silver still wants the All Star game to be held in Charlotte, and considers it a high priority, if there is a resolution to the HB2 bill, per a report from The Charlotte Observer.

League officials moved the 2017 All Star game from Charlotte because of the bill as they felt it was based on discrimination.

The league is not against returning to the city that both invested and spent money preparing for the event, but only if things change.

Silver spoke at a ceremony aimed at refurbishing neighborhood basketball courts in Charlotte, and expressed optimism that they can make things work.

We were in an unfortunate position that we were moving the game, so for me it is a high priority given the investments in the arena, given the investments in the team that Michael and his ownership group has made, and the city and state have made in the Hornets.

The Hornets organization spoke in support of the move. They also support the opportunity for the city to host All Star weekend.
