New Orleans Pelicans stud Zion Williamson was making his first-ever NBA All-Star Game appearance on Sunday night and he made sure to make an impact on the contest early on. Zion finished with authority on an epic alley-oop play from a pin-point dish from Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics.

Here's a look at the Tatum-Zion connection in the first quarter of the much-awaited All-Star Game (h/t ClutchPoints on Twitter):

Both Tatum and Williamson were representing Team Durant as the squad's starters. Tatum was voted by the fans as a starter for the East, while Zion served as a last-minute replacement for Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid, who along with Sixers teammate Ben Simmons, were pulled out from the match to undergo COVID-19 contact tracing protocols.

Zion Williamson was selected by Kevin Durant during the All-Star Draft as one of his first reserve players. LeBron himself seemed to have rued missing out on picking the Pelicans stud to his team.

There's certainly going to be more than a few highlight plays coming out of what should be an NBA All-Star Game for the books, but there's no denying that this early oop from two of the NBA's brightest young stars deserves its place in the highlight reel.
