Alabama freshman guard Collin Sexton plans to declare for the NBA Draft, according to Matt Zenith of AL.com. One of the best point guard talents in the lottery will now remain in draft boards around the league, even if he doesn't immediately sign with an agent.

The 6-foot-3, 190-pound Sexton had pondered the possibility of coming back to Tuscaloosa for his sophomore season, but recently decided against it, choosing to take part in June's festivities.

According to NBADraft.net, Sexton is ranked as the top point guard and eighth-best overall prospect in this year's draft, and could go No. 8 overall to the Chicago Bulls, per the latest mock draft.

Sexton posted 19.2 points per game as a freshman last season and saw his season end at the hands of eventual champion Villanova in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

A swift-moving, athletic scoring guard, Sexton fits the mold of a scoring point guard, though his passing abilities have been known to shine from time to time, as evidenced by his highlight reels from the McDonald's All-American game.
