Former University of North Carolina point guard Coby White is officially headed to the Chicago Bulls. On Thursday evening, the Bulls selected the former Tar Heels standout with the No. 7 overall pick in the first round of the 2019 NBA Draft en route to formally kicking off White's professional tenure as an NBA signal caller after just one year of collegiate basketball.

Coming as absolutely no surprise, White left his remaining three years of collegiate eligibility on the table in order to join the professional ranks of the NBA with many considering him to be one of the nation's top talents throughout his freshman season at North Carolina.

A prolific scorer with a versatile skillset, White surely remains in line to make an immediate impact for the Bulls as a rookie in 2019-20.

Because of his ability to both score and defend, White remained at the forefront of this year's talent pool throughout the spring.

With a litany of Duke Blue Devils coming off the board early on in the process on Thursday evening, White was no doubt going to become the first Tar Heels standout to make his way to the NBA this time around.

With the ACC taking over per usual, the New Orleans Pelicans initially kicked things off by selecting one of those Duke standouts in former Blue Devils big man Zion Williamson, who has now pretty much become the least surprising No. 1 overall pick in NBA history.
