Five-star prospect Isaiah Todd, who decommitted from the University of Michigan, is expected to ink an NBA G League deal and join the new Southern California team featuring top-recruit Jalen Green, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Todd, a 6-foot-9 forward out of Richmond, VA, is the No. 13 prospect in ESPN's Top 100 list. He will join Green, who was the biggest X-factor in the top-10 of the recruiting board, in a brand new G League team.

This is a major win for the newly implemented G League system that now provides high school students with a viable gateway to the NBA without the need to spend a year in college.

Green is expected to make $500,000 in his first year in the G League, a tasty proposition compared to the prospect of playing in college with no compensation and a large microscope into his finances.

G League president Shareef Abdur-Rahim was hired two months after the G League announced the professional pathway in 2018. According to ESPN, he quickly found out that the $125,000 stipend the league was willing to pay blue-chip prospects wasn't enough to recruit them.

Todd isn't the only player who will have his mind changed due to this proposal. Other prospects like Makur Maker, Karim Mane and Kai Sotto could be candidates for this program as well. Top-10 prospect Greg Brown, who is bound to commit to a school soon, could look into what the G League has to offer after two players in the top-15 have opted for this route.
