Much of the focus ahead of the 2018 NBA Draft is put on the likes of Deandre Ayton, Luka Doncic, Marvin Bagley Jr., and Mo Bamba, but guys like Kentucky product Kevin Knox is also gaining some steam because of his youth, physical tools, and perceived immense potential.

Knox is a 19-year-old forward who stands 6’9” and comes with a 6’11” wingspan, drawing comparison from the types of Paul George, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and even Kevin Durant. Speaking to Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints at a draft workout with the LA Clippers, Knox said that he’s watched and studied films of those aforementioned NBA stars and picked George and Durant as his favorite players.

Those who’ve seen Knox play in Lexington knows well that the wingman is a bucket-getter. Knox averaged 15.6 points on 44.5 percent shooting from the field in 37 games for the Kentucky Wildcats last season. There was that time when he dropped 34 points in a win at home over the No. 7 West Virginia Mountaineers, who had one of the best defenses in the nation. Along with fellow NBA prospect Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Knox led the Wildcats to clinch an automatic bid in the Big Dance by winning the SEC Tournament.

Knox is projected by many experts as a top 15 pick but recently, some are pushing him up to a top-10 selection like Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer.

The 2018 NBA Draft is going to be held on June 21 in Brooklyn.
