NBA Draft prospect LaMelo Ball made his debut at the Australia-based National Basketball League on Sunday for the Illawara Hawks. It's just his first game, but he's already breaking the ankles of grown men.

As he was running down the floor, Ball dropped his defender on the hardwood, not once, but twice. In both instances, Melo crossed up his man with a slick behind the back dribble before dropping the ball off to a big man below.

Watch the nasty play below:

You gotta finish that dunk, man!

It's unfortunate that the play didn't finish with a basket. Still, it would go into the record books as a highlight that wasn't.

Likewise, you have to applaud Melo's defender for getting quickly back up. Unfortunately for him, it only meant that he was getting second servings of Ball's insane handles.

Ball impressed in his professional NBL debut against the Brisbane Bullets with an all-around performance. He notched 12 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, four steals, and two blocks.

Ball's stock is rising rapidly, and this performance is only going to make it higher. There has been plenty of chatter around the NBA that LaMelo, the youngest brother of New Orleans Pelicans guard Lonzo Ball, could potentially be the top pick in the 2020 NBA draft.

There is definitely a lot of hype surrounding LaMelo Ball right now. Several teams have already expressed their interest in the 6-foot-6 guard. In fact, some teams have already sent their scouts and representatives to see LaMelo in person.

A lot can still happen from this point on until next year's draft. Other players playing in college could rise in the ranks. But so far, Ball is off to a flying start in his professional league debut.
