Former Oklahoma Sooners hotshot Trae Young is soon going to realize his dream to become an NBA player. He’s not there yet, but he’s already heard from a legend in the form of Hall of Famer Allen Iverson, whom Young said had reached out to him and gave him some advice, per TMZ Sports.

Trae Young is on his way to the NBA Draft … but before he got on the plane, he talked to TMZ Sports about everything from fashion to advice he's received from some of his NBA idols.

One guy who's reached out is Allen Iverson, Young says … “I'm a fan of his!”

Although Iverson has had a controversial career in the NBA, his words definitely carry plenty of weight, especially when spoken to an up-and-comer like Young, who is expected to be among the first names to get called this coming Thursday in the 2018 NBA Draft in Brooklyn.

Young turned lots of heads during his first and only season with Oklahoma in which he led the nation in both points (27.4) and assists (8.7) per game. A lights-out shooter who has drawn comparisons with Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry, Young is a polarizing prospect who some believe will not be able to carry his game into the pros.

Iverson was doubted by some too before he took the NBA by storm, so who’s to stop Young from believing he could dominate in the world’s top league as well?
