Well, hoops fans, today is the day. The 2018 NBA Draft is upon us, and most teams around the league are evaluating their options, including the Atlanta Hawks, who are reported to have interest in former University of Oklahoma point guard Trae Young.

According to a report from Ryen Russillo, the Hawks — owners of the No. 3 overall pick in this year's Draft — might consider trading down to acquire Young.

Young, now 19 years of age, has drawn heaps of interest from teams around the NBA landscape — and for good reason. A 6-foot-2 native of Norman, Oklahoma, he has great accuracy from long range, a solid handle, and an excellent court vision.

In 32 freshman appearances with the Sooners last season, Young turned in averages of 27.4 points on 42.2 percent shooting from the field (36.0 percent from beyond the arc), 8.7 assists, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.7 steals nightly. Furthermore, he was the first collegiate player to lead the country in points and assists per game.

Earlier this week, ESPN's Darren Rovell reported that Young has agreed to a shoe deal with Adidas, joining Damian Lillard and James Harden. Young turned down an offer from Puma last month, who wound up signing a few other Draft prospects instead, including DeAndre Ayton, Marvin Bagley, and Zhaire Smith.

The 2018 NBA Draft is set to commence at 7:00 p.m. EST. inside the Barclays Center. Exactly where Young will land in the pecking order remains to be seen. Will the Hawks indeed trade out of the No. 3 spot? Perhaps. Be sure to keep your browsers locked on ClutchPoints for more updates on this topic as they become available.
