Michael Porter Jr., a forward from Missouri, missed a large part of his freshman year due to a back injury. In fact, according to Chelsea Howard of Sporting News, Porter only played the first two minutes of Missouri's season opener.

However, this setback has not prevented NBA teams from potentially drafting Porter as a top five prospect. Sam Amick of USA Today reported that both the Kings and the Grizzlies are both interested in acquiring Porter.

Porter being considered as a top five pick truly displays the potential teams see in him, especially without proving himself to be a dominant college basketball player this past season. In addition, this thought of Porter being a top five draft pick puts him in front of numerous other college basketball players that have put in tremendous amount of work throughout this season.

For Porter to spark the interests of NBA teams without playing college basketball at the top level he was expected to play is remarkable in the sense of how recruiters see his raw talent as a contributing factor to their team's success.
