Florida State Seminoles product Scottie Barnes is having his Patrick Williams moment and is zooming up boards as the 2021 NBA Draft approaches in a couple of weeks, according to Bleacher Report's Jonathan Wasserman.

People around the NBA now believe Barnes could go in the top five and perhaps even at No. 4 to the Toronto Raptors. Williams, another FSU product, went No. 4 to the Chicago Bulls in the 2020 NBA Draft after not many had him on their radar at that spot for much of the pre-draft process.

Sources tell Bleacher Report the Orlando Magic are a good possibility for Barnes at No. 5, and if not, the Oklahoma City Thunder would take him at No. 6. Rivals teams are assuming the Toronto Raptors will consider him at No. 4, especially if they have interest in bringing back Kyle Lowry (making Jalen Suggs less desirable).

Scottie Barnes played one season at Florida State before declaring for the 2021 NBA Draft, averaging 10.3 points, 4.1 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals in 23.8 minutes per game. The youngster started seven out of 24 games. The 6-foot-8 swingman shot 50.3% from the field, but he struggled to the tune of 27.5% from 3-point range and 62.1% from the foul line.

While Barnes' shooting is a concern, NBA personnel are intrigued by his potential as a versatile, two-way stud. Barnes going over Jalen Suggs in the NBA Draft would be quite the shocker, but it looks like it could be a possibility. The general consensus seems to be that Cade Cunningham, Jalen Green and Evan Mobley will be the first three off the board, in some order.
