Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is reportedly moving DeMarcus Cousins into the starting lineup in Game 2 of the NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors, according to Marc Stein of New York Times.

Cousins saw limited action in Game 1 of the Finals, which is his first game back after suffering a torn quad in the second game of their first-round playoff matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers. The former All-Star big man was clearly rusty in his return to the Warriors, recording only three points, two rebounds and two steals in roughly eight minutes of play.

Jordan Bell started in Game 1, but it's clear Kerr wants to make Cousins get comfortable as fast as possible. It was reported recently that some people in the Golden State organization want Cousins to play and see what he can provide the team after missing almost the entirety of their Western Conference playoff run.

Cousins averaged 16.3 points, 8.2 rebounds and 3.6 assists during the 2018-19 regular season. He also shot 48.0 percent from the field and 73.6 percent from the free throw line.

The Warriors certainly need Cousins to start producing his usual numbers again, and starting him might be the best decision that the team has come up to. With Kevin Durant's return still uncertain, the Dubs need every available player to step up and contribute.
