Ahead of Game 6 of the NBA Finals, Golden State Warriors All-Star guard Klay Thompson reminded fans on the important role that Kevin Durant has played in their quest for a third straight title.

On his latest Instagram post, Thompson wrote a heartfelt message for the two-time Finals MVP. He also called for the fans to cheer as loud as they can for the Dubs' final game in Oracle Arena.

Durant, meanwhile, showed appreciation to the post and responded to Klay's heartfelt message:

Thompson, who scored 26 points in Monday's win, has also dealt with some injuries throughout the series, but none of them were as serious as that of Durant's.

KD suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon in Game 5, and he will likely miss the rest of the 2019-20 season to recover.

Without KD, the Warriors struggled mightily against the Raptors, winning just once in their first four games of the NBA Finals series. In Durant's return in Game 5, he scored 11 points — which turned out to be pivotal as they managed to beat Toronto by only a narrow margin, 106-105.

The Raptors still lead the series 3-2, but a motivated Warriors team playing in front of an adoring crowd who've supported the Dubs for decades will likely be dangerous, especially now that they are also playing for their fallen comrade.
