The Golden State Warriors have not faced this much adversity since they blew a 3-1 lead to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2016 NBA Finals. Three years after that historical collapse, they find themselves in a 1-3 deficit of their own as they hope to prolong the NBA Finals with a win in Game 5 on Monday night in Toronto.

While DeMarcus Cousins has returned to the fold, the Warriors are still without Kevin Durant. Swingman Andre Iguodala injured his calf in Game 1 and has not looked nearly as effective as he had throughout the rest of the playoffs, and the Warriors seemed helpless without Kevon Looney and Klay Thompson in Game 3.

Despite all of the uncertainty surrounding Golden State, however, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is more confident knowing that his team has had two full days to rest and prepare for this crucial elimination game:

Thompson and Looney both returned in Game 4, with Thompson especially putting on a tremendous performance. In over 42 minutes, Thompson scored 28 points and shot 6 of 10 from beyond the arc, desperately trying to keep the Warriors in the game.

However, he was noticeably gimpy during the game and in the tunnel after the contest, sparking questions about how healthy and effective he will be for Game 5.Additionally, the Warriors simply look lost without Durant.

Curry, Thompson and Draymond Green are the only players averaging double figures for the Warriors, whereas the Raptors have six players putting up at least 10 points per game.

Even if Golden State feels healthy and rested for Game 5, they will undoubtedly need tremendous performances from Curry and Thompson if Durant remains inactive.
