Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr felt mixed emotions after the team's 106-105 win over the Toronto Raptors in Game 5 of the NBA Finals on Monday night..

Steve Kerr is happy that the Warriors were able to stave off elimination and send the series back to Oakland for Game 6 on Thursday, where they can tie it up at three games apiece. Golden State showed a lot of heart in Game 5, even when it lost a 14-point lead and trailed by six with fewer than three minutes left. The team showed its championship mettle and responded with a 9-2 run to close the game.

On the other hand, Steve Kerr also felt bad for Kevin Durant, who returned to the lineup in Game 5 after missing almost an entire month due to a strained right calf. The reigning Finals MVP already had 11 points when he suffered another injury to the same leg during the second quarter of the contest. He was helped back into the locker room and was seen leaving Scotiabank Arena on crutches.

There is speculation that Durant suffered a torn Achilles in Game 5. He is scheduled to get an MRI Tuesday to determine the severity of his injury, but it is already clear that he won't return to the series.

Why is this series still going, then? Steph Curry and Klay Thompson shot the ball well in Game 5. They finished with 31 and 26 points respectively and combined for 12 3-pointers to seal the win for the Warriors.

The Raptors were led by Kawhi Leonard's 26 points and 12 rebounds. Kyle Lowry added 18 points and six assists, while Marc Gasol had 17 markers and eight boards. The Raptors will have another shot at winning the championship on Thursday in Oakland.
