The Golden State Warriors have been bitten by the injury bug at the worst time. The team has dealt with numerous injuries to key players, most importantly losing Kevin Durant for the rest of the series. However, there was some positive news on Monday night, as big man Kevon Looney said he hopes to play in Game 6:

Looney is currently dealing with a non-displaced first costal cartilage fracture that kept him out of Game 3 of the NBA Finals. He played 18 minutes in Game 5 before leaving the game because of the injury, but he's apparently going to try to tough it out in Game 6.

The UCLA product has been a useful bench piece for the Warriors all year long. As the Warriors dealt with injuries all season, Looney stepped up and started 24 games in the regular season, a career high. He averaged 6.3 points and 5.2 rebounds per game, also career bests.

With the Warriors still in a 3-2 hole, the team needs all hands on deck, especially with Durant out again. The Toronto Raptors are hard to beat when a team is full strength, and even more so when missing one of the best players in the league.

Golden State needs every contribution it can get out of its bench, and Kevon Looney will look to do that during Game 6 at Oracle Arena. Hopefully, he can play through the pain and give the Warriors some solid minutes.
