Golden State Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson has been ruled out for Game 3 of the NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors, according to Jared Greenberg of NBA TV.

Thompson was initially listed as questionable, though he noted it would be “hard to see” him not playing in Game 3, noting he feels he could still help at 80% of his capabilities.

The 6-foot-7 marksman pulled his hamstring at the 10:40 mark of the fourth quarter, but stayed on until 7:59 after he came up limp and asked his teammates to intentionally foul to get him off the court:

Thompson remained out for the rest of the game, watching his teammates hold onto a lead they had carved in the third quarter as part of an 18-0 avalanche that took the Raptors by surprise to start the second half.

Kevin Durant has already been ruled out for Game 3, with some hope that the extra two days of rest will allow him to suit back up for Game 4 of the series, which would be nearly a month since he last stepped on the court.

Big man Kevon Looney only added to the list of ailing bodies, as he's out for the rest of the NBA Finals with a collarbone injury, one he also played through after injuring himself when landing awkwardly during a Kawhi Leonard drive in the first quarter.

The Warriors have kept a next-man-up mentality, but are quickly running out of bodies to play, hoping to stay afloat until Durant returns.
