It's almost hard to remember that Drake was one of the biggest stories during the early portion of the NBA Finals. He went chest to chest with Steph Curry in Game 1, and after the final buzzer signaled a Toronto Raptors victory, the music mogul exchanged words with Draymond Green on the Scotiabank Arena floor. Drake then showed up to Game 2 wearing a Home Alone inspird sweatshirt meant to invoke the absence of Kevin Durant.

Different narratives took hold from there. Klay Thompson suffered a hamstring injury, forcing him out of Game 3. Kyle Lowry was pushed by Golden State part-owner Mark Stevens during a Raptors blowout victory. Toronto was even more impressive in Game 4, beating the Warriors by double-digits despite Thompson's excellent play in a valiant return. Then Durant came back for an epic 12 minutes before the basketball world's worst fears were realized, when he suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon.

Bad injury luck, somehow, afflicted Golden State again in Game 6, as Thompson tweaked his knee while landing after a foul by Danny Green on a dunk attempt. How did Drake, watching from Jurassic park, respond? With empathy, thankfully.

Thompson came back to shoot two free throws after he was informed that he otherwise wouldn't have been allowed to return to the action. Unfortunately, after going back to the locker room for evaluation, he was ruled out for the remainder of Game 6.
