It only shows how much is at stake in the NBA Finals. After a draining 82-game season and after going up against tough foes in the NBA Playoffs, a defeat on the NBA's biggest stage will be heartbreaking. Kawhi Leonard, playing in his third NBA Finals, knows what it feels.
That's why Kawhi Leonard suddenly showed some strong emotions. He's a great defender. And he knows that it's a foolish move to foul a sharpshooter such as Klay Thompson. He tried his best to make a strong contest, but he ended up grazing the hands of one of the greatest shooters of the game.
Do you agree with the call? Or did Klay Thompson somehow extend his hands in an unnatural way to draw the foul — is that why Leonard complained? As they say, any call can change the outcome of the game.
With players such as Kawhi Leonard and Klay Thompson engaging in high-stakes competition, it is understandable that the emotions would fly freely and fully. The NBA Finals, a compelling drama from the start, did not lose any juice in Game 6 on Thursday night. They actually became better, which is something Kawhi and Klay can relate to.
