Kevin Durant and his camp will reportedly engage with four teams — the Brooklyn Nets, Los Angeles Clippers, New York Knicks and the Golden State Warriors — right upon the opening of free agency on June 30.

Durant opted out of the final year of his contract with the Warriors to become a free agent this summer.

The Nets, Clippers, Knicks and Warriors are expected to have a face-to-face meeting with Durant and business manager Rich Kleiman when the free-agency period starts on Sunday. The meetings will likely take place in New York, where Durant is currently recovering from a surgery that repaired his ruptured Achilles earlier this month.

After communicating with four teams, Durant might delay his decision until late next week. The Warriors currently have the upper hand because they are the only team who can offer KD a five-year deal worth $221 million. The Clippers, Knicks, and Nets can only tender a maximum four-year contract worth $146 million.

Kevin Durant remains as one of the most coveted free agents this summer despite sustaining an Achilles injury in Game 5 of the 2019 NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors. While there are questions about how the injury will affect his game, the 30-year-old is expected to command max deals from interested teams.
