After an extremely busy first couple of days of the free agency window, the basketball world is still waiting on Kawhi Leonard's decision on where he intends to play ball next season. NBA insider Cris Carter recently provided us with a timely update on this, with his report stating that the reigning Finals MVP has yet to make up his mind.

This is actually more of a non-update update considering how this delivers no new information on the table. Then again, Carter does point out that the Los Angeles Lakers do not appear to be frontrunners to acquire the services of the two-time Defensive Player of the Year winner, despite recent reports saying that Kawhi is heavily favoring a move to Hollywood to team up with LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

What is clear, however, is that Leonard is obviously biding his time here. He is in no rush to make a decision, and is not letting any outside pressure force him into making a commitment before he is fully ready to do so. This being the case, it would not be surprising if Kawhi ends up taking a few more days (or weeks?) before finally making an announcement.

At this point, it appears that the Toronto Raptors still hold the upper hand in the Kawhi sweepstakes. This could actually prove to be the most practical decision for Leonard, as maintaining the status quo would not require him to transition into a whole new scenario.

Then again, a move to his home town of L.A. is still very much on the table, so the Los Angeles Clippers — a team that has long been linked to Kawhi even months before his championship-winning run with the Raptors — could very well end up as the winners of this franchise-altering sweepstakes.
