Big man Richaun Holmes is receiving interest from the Los Angeles Lakers, Milwaukee Bucks, and Chicago Bulls, per HoopsHype’s Alex Kennedy.

Holmes is an unrestricted free agent who last played for the Phoenix Suns during the 2018-19 NBA season. He was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers with the seventh pick in the second round of the 2015 draft (37th overall) and later traded to Phoenix for cash.

Holmes went to Bowling Green State in Ohio for three years before declaring for the NBA Draft. He's from Illinois, so he'd be going home if he signed with Chicago.

The Lakers, meanwhile, are searching for roster depth following their blockbuster deal with the New Orleans Pelicans to acquire All-NBA-caliber big man Anthony Davis. Los Angeles needed to shed Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, and Josh Hart — plus multiple first-round picks — in order to facilitate the deal. Holmes could work as a quality big man backup to Davis.

The Bucks want big man Brook Lopez back, but the one-time All-Star could get a bigger payday elsewhere in free agency if Milwaukee commits big money to other free agents Khris Middleton and Malcolm Brogdon. Holmes could also simply act as depth behind Lopez.

Holmes, 25, has averaged 7.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks in 226 career contests, shooting 60.8% from the floor and 73.1% from the free-throw line in his four-year NBA tenure.
