Free agent point guard D'Angelo Russell has reportedly narrowed down his preferred destinations next season to two: the Los Angeles Lakers and the Brooklyn Nets.

According to Ben Stinar of AmicoHoops.com, Russell would love to reunite with the Lakers and his desire to return to LA is now on the top of his list, despite his undeniable love for the Nets.

According to a source close to the situation, D’Angelo Russell wants to sign with Los Angeles Lakers or re-sign with the Brooklyn Nets. Those are the two teams on the top of his wish list. However, the source reiterated that this is a waiting game based on the fact that Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant and Kawhi Leonard essentially have put the NBA into a deadlock.

Russell would genuinely love to return to Los Angeles and play for the Lakers, according to the source. While his love of Brooklyn has already been well documented, the interest in returning to the Lakers is the most facilitating development in terms of his unique free-agency situation.

Russell won't be the Lakers' and Nets' priority in free agency, as both franchises will be gunning for the top free agents available. However, if one of those teams strike out, D'Lo will be their next target — which is still great considering that the young guard made it to the All-Star team for the first time last season.

Free agency starts in less than 24 hours, and expect the speculations to intensify as we get closer to one of the most important events of the offseason.
