The Houston Rockets and Philadelphia 76ers are reportedly interested in signing Al Horford in free agency, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Watch Stadium.

The Sixers and Rockets join the Dallas Mavericks, Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers as the teams with interest in Horford, who is not expected to re-sign with the Boston Celtics.

Horford decided to decline his 2019-20 player option with the Celtics, which was worth around $30 million. The All-Star big man reportedly believes he can get a long-term deal on the open market worth around $100 million.

This past season, Al averaged 13.6 points, 6.7 rebounds and 4.2 assists while shooting 53.5 percent from the field, 36.0 percent from beyond the arc and 82.1 percent from the free-throw line. The five-time All-Star recorded 10 double-doubles and one triple-double. Horford is widely considered to be one of the smartest players in the NBA and a low maintenance guy.

The Sixers would love to sign Horford, mostly because they could pair him with star center Joel Embiid in the front court. Al has a history of defending Embiid very well, so Joel would likely appreciate the Sixers acquiring Horford.

The Rockets don't have the salary cap space to sign Horford. They would likely need to do a sign-and-trade with the Celtics to get the veteran big man.
