It was certainly an action-packed opening weekend for this season's playoffs. There were a number of upsets as well as a fair amount of standout performances, but one of the most interesting statistics thus far is the number of ejections we witnessed in the first two days of playoff action.

As pointed out by ESPN's Malika Andrews, this past weekend's three ejections are already on par with last season's total number of ejections throughout the entire playoffs:

Being his usual gritty self, Los Angeles Clippers guard Patrick Beverley succeeded in getting under the skin of Golden State Warriors superstar Kevin Durant. After several verbal exchanges between the pair throughout the contest, the game official finally decided that he had seen enough by the fourth quarter. Both Beverley and Durant were ejected from the ballgame, and perhaps rightfully so, as the two just wouldn't stop jawing at each other (it even got slightly physical on several instances) all night long.

The game was already over at that point, though, with the Warriors holding a commanding lead. The ejections had no bearing on the outcome of the game, as the Dubs handily took Game 1 of the series, 121-104.

As for Andre Drummond of the Detroit Pistons, his ejection was handed out after he shoved Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo on a layup attempt. His actions were deemed excessive, and the Pistons big man was called for a Flagrant 2 and was automatically ejected from the contest.

This game also turned out to be a blowout, with the Bucks coming away with a lopsided 121-86 victory against the eighth-seeded Pistons.
