After a rather controversial voting for the All-Star starters, the NBA has announced the reserves for the upcoming All-Star Weekend in Atlanta on March 7 (via Shams Charania of The Athletic).

Unsurprisingly, Damian Lillard leads the reserve list in the West after contending for a starting spot with Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic. The two went into a tie, but the Mavs' point-forward got the slot as he got more fan votes than the Portland Trail Blazers scorer.

Like Lillard, Los Angeles Clippers forward Paul George, Utah Jazz duo Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert are no-brainers. After all, they are playing phenomenal NBA basketball for the top teams in the West.

Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis has also been named to the team, but he is likely to be replaced due to the Achilles injury he sustained recently. New Orleans Pelicans sophomore Zion Williamson and Phoenix Suns veteran Chris Paul complete the list.

As for the East, Brooklyn Nets star James Harden, Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum, Philadelphia 76ers point-forward Ben Simmons and Orlando Magic center  Nikola Vucevic made it to the cut. Among the NBA All-Star first-timers, albeit unsurprising picks, are New York Knicks big man Julius Randle, Chicago Bulls guard Zach LaVine and Celtics guard Jaylen Brown.

Randle has been expected to make the team given his stellar play for the Knicks, and the same goes for LaVine and Brown,. who both have been arguably snubbed from the 2020 All-Star Game.

Interestingly, the likes of Heat star Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo didn't make it in the East. Jazz guard Mike Conley is also a notable omission, especially since he is yet to make the NBA All-Star.

The 14 selected reserves from both conferences will now join the starters that have been named last week. LeBron James and Kevin Durant were the leading vote-getters from the West and East, respectively. Aside from Luka, Kawhi Leonard, Stephen Curry and Nikola Jokic complete the West starters.

As for the East, Kyrie Irving, Bradley Beal, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Joel Embiid join Durant as starters.
