The NBA hasn't seen Amare Stoudemire in the league since the end of the 2015-16 season, but now, it appears as if the 35 year old power forward is eyeing an NBA return.

According to an interview with The Michael Kay Show on ESPN 98.7 (heard though Ian Begley of ESPN), Stoudemire said that he's training as if a return to the NBA is possible, and also called his aiming for an NBA return a “reality.”

The 14-year NBA veteran Stoudemire, who started his career with the Phoenix Suns in 2002, also played for teams like the New York Knicks, Dallas Mavericks, and the Miami Heat during his NBA tenure. He averaged 18.9 points, 7.8 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.2 blocks per game on 53.7 percent shooting from the field.

His best season came with the Suns during the 2007-08 season when he averaged 25.2 points, 9.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 0.8 steals, and 2.1 blocks per game on 59 percent shooting from the field.

Stoudemire is also set to play in the second season of Ice Cube's BIG3 League, which features retired NBA players who get to travel the country and still get the intensity of professional basketball in a 3-on-3 setting.
