Phoenix Suns shooting guard Devin Booker was rather upset about being double teamed in a recent pickup game. For some, doubling up on someone in a practice run is a no-no. Others, however, including free agent Amir Johnson, feel that it's simply a part of the game.

Are there unwritten rules in pickup basketball? Sure. Are they crystal clear? Well, not always.

Booker was joined by several past and present NBA players for this open run, including Sixers All-Star Ben Simmons and Joakim Noah. After catching a pass near the corner, Booker was immediately doubled. The defensive move pinned him in position, which led to a vocal outcry:

Booker: “We're not doubling in open gym. I get that s–t all season. Let’s work on our game, bro.”

Joakim: “Yeah, we are. It’s part of the game.”

Footage of this incident has since went viral, and several NBA players have chimed in with their two cents on the matter. For Amir Johnson, double teaming is perfectly fine:

“Technically, if it's game point and you're competitive, you're trying to win,” Johnson told TMZ. “I don't see nothing wrong with double-teaming. It's all part of the game.”

Johnson has a point. These are competitive guys who may be trying to make a name for themselves. If the game is on the line, there is a good chance a double team could be coming. It just seems that Booker was taking a more casual approach to this practice session.
