The NBA has announced that Miami Heat point guard Goran Dragic and New Orleans Pelicans big man Anthony Davis have been named the league's Players of the Week for their respective conferences, for games from November 20-27.

Dragic was clutch for the South Beach team, and helped them remain perfect last week with a 3-0 record. He averaged solid numbers of 23.7 points, 4.3 assists and 3.7 rebounds. The Heat have now climbed to eighth place in the East, with a 10-9 win-loss slate.

Davis on the other hand led the Pelicans to a 3-1 week, with equally impressive averages of 29.5 points, 12.5 rebounds and shot 58.6 percent from the field. More importantly for him, his team now has a winning record of 11-9, and is currently in seventh place in the West.

It was the first award for the two players this season so far, but it won't be surprising if they'll receive more, especially if they continue playing at this level. The Heat and Pelicans are both expected to contend for a playoff spot, and with Dragic and Davis leading their charge, their chances of completing their quests is definitely boosted.
